Finn Balor Recalls Breaking His Ankle Hitting The Coup De Grace On Samoa Joe

Finn Balor has finished off many opponents with his top rope double stomp, which he calls the Coup De Grace.

The move looks devastating for the opponent, but Balor has been on the wrong side of delivering the move in the past.

“I hit one on Samoa Joe where I landed on his ankle and I rolled my ankle and broke my ankle. That was a memorable one for that,” Balor told Ryan Satin on Out of Character when asked about his most memorable Coup De Grace. “Maybe the one on Roman, first night on Raw, but I don’t have a visual memory of any of them.”

When asked about his favorite opponent to hit the move on, Balor replied, “Matt Bloom, he always complains that when I hit it, one time I skidded off him and pinched his belly button. If I can get him with another belly pinch, I’d love to do that.”

Finally, Balor was asked if there was one time he’d take back doing the move.

“I did it off the top of the ladder one time and that was stupid. I don’t know if I’d do that again,” he said.

Balor failed to hit the Coup de Gace against Karrion Kross on Tuesday’s NXT, which is part of the reason why he was unable to regain the NXT Championship.
