Henry Cejudo Wants To Bring Gold Back To America

Recently retired, Henry Cejudo is looking to represent America in a big way.

Cejudo, the former UFC bantamweight and flyweight champion, told Dana White that he would be the one to return three major UFC titles back to America if White was interested. He is referring to the UFC bantamweight championship being held by Aljamain Sterling (Jamaica), the UFC featherweight championship held by Alexander Volkanovski (Austalia), and the UFC featherweight championship held by Deiveson Figueiredo (Brazil).

Cejudo stated:

“Hey @danawhite so you have a walking pez dispenser champ at 125lbs @daico_deusdaguerra a paper champion and Oscar winner @funkmastermma and a wanna be Crocodile Hunter @alexvolkanovski. I’m feeling generous and here to help you make America great again.”

An Olympic medalist, Cejudo made his MMA debut in 2013. He made his debut for the UFC in 2014 and went 10-2 with the promotion. In a rematch against Demetrious Johnson for the UFC flyweight title in 2018, Cejudo beat the champion. He then beat T.J. Dillashaw and won the vacant UFC bantamweight title against Marlon Moraes at UFC 238 in 2019.

Cejudo’s last fight was in May 2020, beating Dominick Cruz at UFC 249 via TKO. Retiring after that fight, Cejudo has been very active on social media. He has called out several fighters and has teased fighting for gold again. As of now, the father-to-be has not officially announced a return to the octagon.
