RYZIN: I Had No Idea About Triple H Being Terra Ryzing
RYZIN has carved out a role for himself on AEW Dark during the pandemic era.
He made his AEW debut on the August 18, 2020 episode of AEW Dark and has been a consistent performer on the show ever since.
Following his debut, many began making Terra Ryzing jokes aimed at RYZIN. Terra Ryzing was the former name of Triple H in WCW.
Speaking to Graham Matthews of WhatCulture, RYZIN revealed that he had no idea of Triple H’s former name.
“I’ve actually had that name for many, many years. When I used to play video games when I was younger and did Create-A-Wrestler, it was just the name I gravitated to. I don’t know exactly where it came from. A lot of people try to use Terra Ryzing, who was Triple H in WCW, and make that connection, but I had really no idea about that. It was just something I was going to be Rizing and then I dropped off the G. A buddy of mine and I started to do tag team wrestling and get into the business and his name was Jason. I said, “Why don’t you cut that in half and I’m Ri Sin and you’re Jay Sin?” We were looking at the names and wanted to be unique with it and try to stand out, so let’s throw Ys in there. So, Ryzin and he was Synn. Together, we were Hy Rysk [High Risk], so that’s how that came about 18 years ago as of August,” he said.
Ryzin is set to team with Jake Logan & Rick Recon against The Factory on Tuesday’s AEW Dark. You can view the current lineup for AEW Dark by clicking here.
