Gordon Ryan makes ONE Championship debut against Shinya Aoki in August
Three-time ADCC gold medalist Gordon Ryan will make his debut with ONE Championship in an open weight grappling match against former ONE and DREAM lightweight champion Shinya Aoki on August 27, ONE Championship CEO Chatri Sityodtong broke the news via his Twitter account. Aoki is 12-5 in his submission grappling career and even competed against Ryan’s teammate Gary Tonon back in 2017 where he was submitted via a heel hook. Ryan on the other hand is 144-9-3 in his submission grappling career and hasn’t lost a match since May 2018 where he lost on points to Vinny Magalhaes.

Edmen Shahbazyan vs. Jack Hermansson off of UFC 262, rebooked for UFC Vegas 27
Middleweight contenders Edmen Shahbazyan and Jack Hermansson will have to wait a week to face off, as their matchup has been pulled from this Saturday’s UFC 262 event and rescheduled for UFC Vegas 27 on May 22. MMA DNA’s Marcel Dorff was the first to report the news, the promotion has yet to confirm anything regarding the bout being rebooked. Shahbazyan will try to bounce back from the first professional defeat of his career, losing via a third-round TKO to Derek Brunson at UFC Vegas 5. Hermansson will look to do the same thing after losing his latest Octagon appearance to Marvin Vettor via a unanimous decision at UFC Vegas 16.

Amanda Ribas vs. Angela Hill rescheduled for UFC event in June
UFC women’s strawweight contenders Amanda Ribas and Angela Hill have had their fight rescheduled for a yet-to-be-announced UFC Fight Night event on June 5, first reported by MMA DNA’s Marcel Dorff. The pair’s initial meeting at this past weekend’s UFC Vegas 26 card was pulled off of the event because of Ribas testing positive for COVID-19. The Brazillian contender will try to bounce back from her first loss inside of the Octagon when she was TKO’d in the second round by Marina Rodriguez at UFC 257. Hill on the other hand is 4-2 in her last six Octagon appearances and will try to build some momentum off of her most recent win, a unanimous decision victory against Ashley Yoder in their rematch at UFC Vegas 21.

Ben Rothwell vs. Philipe Lins rebooked for UFC Vegas 27
Heavyweights Ben Rothwell and Philipe Lins will not meet at UFC Vegas 27 on May 22, after Lins was forced to withdraw from their scheduled bout at this past weekend’s UFC Vegas 26 event because of an undisclosed illness. The news was first reported by MMA DNA’s Marcel Dorff, Rothwell is 2-4 in his last six fights and will try to rebound from a unanimous decision loss to Marcin Tybura at UFC Fight Island 5. Lins is trying to avoid a three-fight losing streak and still is searching for his first Octagon victory after being knocked out in the first round by Tanner Boser at UFC Vegas 4 in his last outing.

Bryan Barberena meets Jason Witt at UFC event in July
Welterweights Bryan Barberena and Jason Witt are set to clash at a yet-to-be-announced UFC Fight Night event on July 31, first reported by MMA DNA. Barberena is 3-3 in his last six Octagon appearances and is coming off of a unanimous decision victory over Anthony Ivy at UFC Vegas 10, whereas Witt will try to rebound from a 16-second knockout loss to Matthew Semelsberger at UFC Vegas 21.

Phil Hawes vs. Deron Winn booked for UFC event in July
Middleweight Phil Hawes will get a quick turnaround after defeating Kyle Daukaus via a unanimous decision at this past weekend’s UFC Vegas 26 event. Hawes will now fight again just several weeks later against Deron Winn at a yet-to-be-announced UFC Fight Night event on July 17, revealing the news during an appearance on Pub Sports Radio with James Lynch. The victory over Daukaus marked Hawes’ seventh win in a row, Winn, on the other hand, will try to build off of a unanimous decision victory of his own over Antonio Arroyo at UFC Vegas 17.
Chase Sherman takes on Parker Porter at UFC event in August
Heavyweight sluggers Chase Sherman and Parker Porter will collide at a yet-to-be-announced UFC Fight Night event on August 21, first reported by Fight Bananas David Van Auken. Sherman is 4-1 in his last five fights and will try to get back on the winning track after dropping a unanimous decision defeat to former UFC heavyweight champion Andrei Arlovski at UFC Vegas 24. Porter is only 1-1 in his two Octagon appearances so far, beating Josh Parisian via a unanimous decision at UFC Vegas 15 in his most recent outing.

After their failed first booking for UFC 261, bantamweights Johnny Munoz and Jamey Simmons have been rescheduled to meet at UFC 265 on August 7, first reported by MMAJunkie’s Nolan King. Munoz will try to rebound from the first professional defeat of his career where he dropped a unanimous decision to Nate Maness at UFC Vegas 5. Simmons will also try to bounce back from a loss, he was defeated in his Octagon debut at UFC Vegas 13 by Giga Chikadze via a first-round TKO.

Vince Pichel vs. Austin Hubbard targeted for UFC event in August
Lightweights Vince Pichel and Austin Hubbard are set to meet at a yet-to-be-announced UFC Fight Night event on August 21, first reported by MMAFighting’s Damon Martin and Mike Heck. Pichel is 6-1 in his last seven Octagon outings and last defeated veteran Jim Miller via a unanimous decision at UFC 252, whereas Hubbard is 3-3 on his current run with the promotion and is also coming off of a unanimous decision victory over Dakota Bush at UFC Vegas 24.
