Paul Daley Talks About Fighting Rory MacDonald
Paul Daley will be returning to his home country of England this coming May for Bellator 179, where he will be taking on UFC veteran Rory MacDonald.
Daley, who lost his last fight in England to Douglas Lima, praises his future opponents abilities inside the cage.
“He’s a blood-and-guts type warrior,” Daley said to WHOATV. “I’ve said this since I’ve been back at Bellator – I’m just a little bit better than everybody thinks. Until you’re in there with me, you don’t really know. You think you know: ‘yea he does this good, yea there’s openings here, there’s openings there’, you don’t know until you get in there with me. And when you get in there with me, it’s too late.”
Michael Page wasn’t thrilled when it was revealed that MacDonald, not himself, would be fighting Daley at Bellator 179. However, from Daley’s point of view, the fight between himself and Page will still be massive when it does come to fruition.
“I can see the potential in this fight, and I’m happy for the both of us,” Daley said. “The back-and-forth promotional banter, it’s all there. This fight can be absolutely massive, and that is what I want.”
Bellator 179 takes place on Friday, May 19 from the SSE Arena in London, England with Paul Daley and Rory MacDonald headlining.
