Universal Championship Match Set For 4/30 WWE SmackDown
Roman Reigns will defend his Universal Championship on the April 30 edition of Friday Night SmackDown.
Cesaro has been on a roll lately and kicked off tonight’s show, but was promptly interrupted by Jey Uso and Seth Rollins. They tried to ambush the Swiss Superstar, but Daniel Bryan made the save. They then made the case that Cesaro was in line for a title shot, but that Reigns doesn’t like to fight. Roman then came out and called Cesaro and Bryan losers. A tag team match then booked, which Bryan and Cesaro won after Rollins abandoned Uso.
After the match, Cesaro swung Jey Uso around and around while Daniel Bryan insulted the Universal Champion. Backstage, Paul Heyman informed Kayla Braxton that Reigns would let everyone know his answer by the end of the night.
During the main event segment, Roman flat out refused to fight Cesaro, asking what he has done to deserve the opportunity. He said that the answer will always be no. That said, he did have a proposal for Daniel Bryan. He offered Bryan a Championship match next week, however, should Reigns retain, he never wants to see Bryan on SmackDown ever again. After Cesaro told him that he had to do it, Bryan grabbed the mic and accepted the challenge.

Bryan lost to Reigns at Elimination Chamber after having just taken part in the gruelling match. He also lost to Reigns at WrestleMania 37 during their triple threat match with Edge, albeit with a helping hand from Jey Uso.
