Glover Teixeira is preparing for action this weekend at UFC 208, where he will be taking on Jared Cannonier in a light heavyweight division attraction.
Teixeira is also a huge fan of legendary boxer Mike Tyson, even meeting the legendary boxer inside the Octagon after a win at UFC 160 a few years back. Teixeira has already taken a tour of the gym where Tyson trained at in Catskills, New York and now he has another Tyson inspired trip to prepare for.
The UFC Light Heavyweight Title challenger may be heading to Brownsville, New York, which is where Tyson grew up as a kid.
“I think we’re five miles away from his block,” Teixeira told MMA Junkie. “It’s kind of cool. Maybe I’ll visit where he grew up. Maybe.”
Tyson himself has been a huge MMA fan for years, even providing color commentary about a year back for a Bellator MMA fight between Derek Campos and UFC veteran Melvin Guillard.
UFC 208 takes place on Saturday, February 11 from the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York with Holly Holm and Germaine De Randamie headlining.
