Tony Khan Guarantees Definitive Winner Between Kenny Omega And Rich Swann At IMPACT Rebellion
On Sunday, April 25 at IMPACT Rebellion, AEW’s Kenny Omega and IMPACT Wrestling’s Rich Swann will face off in a Title vs. Title match.
A press conference was held on tonight’s episode of IMPACT, with AEW President Tony Khan and Jerry Lynn sitting across from Scott D’Amore and Rich Swann. Josh Matthews then presented both sides with questions from a few different media members. One of them voiced their concern that the match wouldn’t happen or that some form of chicanery would tarnish the result. Both Khan and D’Amore, however, guaranteed that a definitive winner would be decided. Khan even said that he would be there with an AEW referee before boasting about how there has never been a non-finish on an AEW show. Furthermore, both executives acknowledged that all the logistics have been agreed upon and that whoever wins will fulfill the necessary responsibilities for both programs.

Omega and Don Callis then strolled into the conference, a good 5 minutes late. Callis was asked when he was going to pick a side; talent manager or IMPACT executive. He took offence to the implication that he was doing anything untoward, citing how he has always been there for Rich Swann when he needed him. Callis then introduced Omega, who expressed why he believes he is going to win the match and why – in no uncertain terms – is better than Swann in every way. He offered his hand for a shake but slapped the IMPACT Champion when he reached out. A brawl ensued, with everyone having to be pulled apart as the show went off the air.

Omega and Swann faced off in a 6-man Tag on April 8. On that night, it was the team of Swann, Willie Mack and Eddie Edwards that defeated Omega and The Good Brothers (Doc Gallows & Karl Anderson).
