Matt Cardona Challenges Brian Myers To A Future One-On-One Match
Matt Cardona has laid down the challenge to Brian Myers to meet him inside the ring.
For better or worse, Matt Cardona and Brian Myers will forever be linked to one another. Cardona and Myers received their big breaks in WWE as Edgeheads. Then known as Curt Hawkins and Zack Ryder, Matt Cardona and Brian Myers would be afforded opportunities to step inside the ring against legends such as Shawn Michaels and Ric Flair and even have the opportunity to do a run-in during the main event of WrestleMania 24 when Edge faced The Undertaker for the World Heavyweight Championship in 2008.
They would each go their separate ways for a period of time before coming back together once again to capture the WWE Raw Tag Team Championship at WrestleMania 35 in 2019. Matt and Brian also have a podcast network together and started their journeys in professional wrestling together.
Following their release from WWE in April 2020, both men would find themselves in IMPACT Wrestling with Brian Myers getting there a few months before Matt Cardona.
Since they’ve been under the same promotional banner once again, Brian has been distant towards his former tag team partner.
During an interview with Gia Miller on the March 23 episode of IMPACT, Cardona would insist that he is not following Brian but since Brian wants to face him inside the ring, he laid down a challenge for one match. According to Matt, after this one match, there would be no future matches or future tag-teaming and each man would go their separate way.
Did this dude really just challenge me in a purple leather jacket?! #IMPACTonAXSTV https://t.co/krSlRAp9hG
