Max Griffin KOs Song Kenan Quick: UFC Vegas 22 Main Card Highlights

The new co-main event of UFC Vegas 22 following unfortunate circumstances, Max Griffin was able to take down Song Kenan with a few vicious shots to the face.

Max Griffin def. Song Kenan via KO (2:20, R1)

Both started off swinging right away, looking to prove something. Griffin had Song by the cage but the latter was able to escape. Song with a body kick, but Griffin just dropped him with a combination to the face. Griffin landed one last shot on a downed Song before it ended.  

Montserrat “Conejo” Ruiz def. Cheyanne Buys via unanimous decision (29-28, 29-28, 29-27)

Conejo dominated the first two rounds thanks to a headlock that could not be broken. She would hit Buys with multiple significant strikes to the face while on the ground. Buys was able to bring it back to the feet, but Conejo would not let her have any advantage. Buys reversed a takedown late in the third but Conejo got on top again before the round ended. In total, Conejo, landed 136 total strikes and had a ground control advantage of 8:52. 

Adrian Yanez def. Gustavo Lopez via KO (0:27, R3)

In a fight between two top strikers, Yanez had the ultimate advantage. He landed right after right and mixed it up with a jab. It looked as if Lopez would be able to make things interesting with shots of his own, but Yanez was able to drop Lopez in the second. After recovering, Lopez could do nothing but fall as Yanez landed a combo in the third for the knockout win. 

Tai Tuivasa def. Harry Hunsucker via via TKO (0:49, R1)

Hunsucker had fast hands to start, but Tuivasa landed harder shots. Tuivasa landed a few more that dropped Hunsucker. Herb Dean called the fight right after before the fight could really get going. Tuivasa has now won two in a row.
