Barry Orton Passes Away At The Age Of 62

Randall Barry Orton passed away yesterday at the age of 62.

He was the brother of “Cowboy” Bob Orton and the uncle of WWE Superstar Randy Orton.

Orton, who made his pro wrestling debut in 1976, had two stints with the WWF under the name of Barry O. First from 1985-1988, and then again from 1990-1991 after serving time in prison.

In the early 90s, he gained media attention after claiming that Terry Garvin, who at the time worked in Talent Relations, tried to sexually harass him while on a car ride when he was a teenager.

While working for Stampede Wrestling in 1987, Orton wrestled under a mask, going by The Zodiak. During that time he performed alongside names such as Owen Hart, Bruce Hart, Brian Pillman, Hiroshi Hase and Jushin Liger as Fuji Yamada.

Throughout his career, Orton also wrestled for ICW, WOW, the NWA, and the IWF. Among his accomplishments, he won the NWA Americas Tag Team Championship with Héctor Guerrero as well as the ICW Southeastern Tag Team Championship with Bob Orton Jr.

He retired from wrestling in 1992, transitioning into movies, where he landed a few minor roles.

Fightful would like to send its condolences to the family, friends, and fans of Barry Orton.
