Sami Zayn Irate After Learning WWE Called His Match “The Least Anticipated In SmackDown History”
Sami Zayn is vowing to take WWE down to Hell.
On the March 19 episode of SmackDown, WWE dubbed Sami Zayn and King Corbin’s match as the least anticipated in the show’s nearly 22-year history. Zayn would lose to Corbin in short order, getting hit with the End of Days. After the match, Sami attacked Kevin Owens when he disagreed about there being a conspiracy against him.
Backstage, Zayn was irate, not about the result, but because of what the company said before they even got to the ring. He said the following (full video above, via WWE’s YouTube):
“I’ve been disrespected. I’ve been jerked around by this company in recent months more than anybody, maybe ever. But today they crossed a new line. They crossed a line that I don’t know if there’s any coming back from it. Did you see the video package they played before the match? I’m not even going to get into the match. I’m not even going to get into what Kevin said after the match. I’m not going to get into the fact that I kicked him and I didn’t even want to kick him. I’m not going to get into all of that. Did you see the video package they played before we went out? They put a graphic of me and Baron Corbin and they said, ‘you are about to watch the least desirable match in SmackDown history!’ This is what they said. Least anticipated match of all-time. This is what they said about me, a f**cking generational talent! One of the best to ever do this sh*t! That’s what they said about me. The balls! I will take this company down to hell!”
Sami would then track down Corbin and explain what was said about them. He told Corbin that the company loves him, but highlighted that once you’re lumped together with Sami Zayn you’re treated differently. Corbin agreed with Sami before walking off angrily.
