Unified NXT Cruiserweight Championship Bout Set For NXT TakeOver: Stand & Deliver
The real NXT Cruiserweight Champion will be crowned at NXT TakeOver: Stand & Deliver.
Jordan Devlin made his long-awaited return to NXT on Wednesday to confront Santos Escobar. Both men are carrying their version of the NXT Cruiserweight Championship and the real NXT Cruiserweight Champion must be crowned.
Escobar challenged Devlin to a unified NXT Cruiserweight Title match at NXT TakeOver: Stand & Deliver. Devlin responded by busting the mouth of Escobar with a headbutt.
The bout was made official for NXT TakeOver: Stand & Deliver on Friday’s 205 Live.
Devlin won the NXT Cruiserweight Championship at Worlds Collide 2020, but was stuck overseas during the COVID-19 pandemic and unable to defend the title in the US. He had made multiple defenses of the belt on NXT UK.
A tournament was held to crown a new NXT Cruiserweight Champion in May 2020. Escobar won the tournament and has held the belt ever since.
