Boxing Legend Marvelous Marvin Hagler Dead At 66
Hall of Famer boxer and legendary middleweight champion Marvelous Marvin Hagler has reportedly died.
Hagler’s death was announced on Saturday. The renowned boxer was 66-years-old at the time of the announcement.
“I am sorry to make a very sad announcement,” his wife Kay G. Hagler appears to have written on Hagler’s official Facebook fan page. “Today unfortunately my beloved husband Marvelous Marvin passed away unexpectedly at his home here in New Hampshire. Our family requests that you respect our privacy during this difficult time.”

Hagler (62-3, 52 KOs) reigned as the undisputed middleweight champion from 1980-1987 with 12 successful title defenses. He holds the record for the highest knockout percentage of all undisputed champions at 78 percent. he also holds the third-longest unified championship reign in boxing history with his dozen consecutive defenses.
The New Jersey native retired from professional competition following a split decision title loss to Sugar Ray Leonard in April of 1987. Hagler’s pro wins include Sugar Ray Seales, Bobby Watts and Alan Minter.
