Tony Khan Says They’re Lucky Kenny Omega’s Bomb Was A Dud, Not Shocked His Crayon-Drawn Plan Failed

Tony Khan shared his thoughts on the not-so-explosive conclusion to AEW Revolution.

In the main event of the PPV, Kenny Omega defeated Jon Moxley to retain the AEW World Championship with a little help from his friends, Doc Gallows and Karl Anderson. After the match, the men beat down Moxley, handcuffed him and left him in the ring as the explosion timer counted down. Eddie Kingston came out to save his longtime friend, laying down on top of him as protection. When the clock hit zero, unfortunately, the ring posts emitted some sparklers, but nothing that be remotely harmful. Made worse was Kingston on the ground selling as though he had been knocked out.

Speaking in the post-show media scrum, Khan was asked about the incident, saying that they’re lucky Omega build a dud.

“I think we’re all lucky that the bomb going off at the end didn’t really hurt anybody. That Kenny’s big masterplan, that he built a dud. Which, who would’ve thought when he drew up the big plan with crayons that maybe the bomb might fail to take both guys out.”

Moxley also cut a promo on the AEW Champion’s less-than-stellar bomb-making skills after the PPV went off the air.

Khan would conclude by saying the following:

“All through the match we saw it looked very cool and it’s a deadly painful match, but at the end, I don’t know what people really wanted. Unless you wanted us to actually explode the guys at the end, there’s only so much you can do. So without actually blowing the ring and both guys up, I think the basic explanation is that Kenny’s ring, set to explode, as a heel who built this thing with a hammer and nails as we saw, that the final bomb just didn’t go off.”
