Ric Flair Remembers His Former Boss Jim Crockett Jr

The wrestling world lost legendary promoter Jim Crockett Jr on March 3. 

Crockett Jr went onto hospice care in recent days and was reportedly dealing with liver and kidney failure. He is remembered for his time as the promoter of Jim Crockett Promotions and going head-to-head with Vince McMahon in the 1980s. As a multi-time President of the National Wrestling Alliance, Crockett Jr was influential in building the career of Ric Flair. 

Taking to social media, Flair paid tribute to his former boss.

I Moved To Charlotte In 1974 With $150 In My Pocket. Jimmy Crockett Was My Friend And My Boss. I Can’t Put Into Words How Much He Did For Me And My Career. Crockett Jr ran Jim Crockett Promotions until 1988 when he sold the company to Ted Turner, who rebranded it into World Championship Wrestling.
