Israel Adesanya Trolls Paulo Costa Over “Hangover,” More News | Social Media Roundup
The hits keep coming for UFC middleweight contender Paulo Costa, after the Brazilian power-puncher claimed to be “hungover” during his loss to middleweight champion Israel Adesanya at UFC 253 — Fightful has you covered on how Adesanya responded to those claims and other viral social media moments from the world of MMA.
Israel Adesanya Trolls Paulo Costa Over “Hangover” Comments
Flashback to UFC 253, one of the most-hyped UFC middleweight title fights of all-time took place in the form of champion Israel Adesanya against challenger Paulo Costa.
The fight wouldn’t be very competitive right from the get-go. Adesanya had an answer for anything “Borrachina” had to offer and completely nullified to usual extremely aggressive fighter, en-route to a second-round TKO victory.
It’s been about six months since the bout and Costa has finally revealed the “reason” for his shortcoming on that fateful September night.
He was “hungover”…from drinking too much wine the previous night.
Everyone in and out of the world of MMA has trolled Costa for the comment, including former two-weight champion Daniel Cormier and of course, the aforementioned Israel Adesanya, who pondered to his Twitter followers, which beverage he should indulge in, last evening.
Wine, perhaps?

UFC Releases Jan Blachowicz Hype Video Ahead of UFC 259
Much like Adesanya, Jan Blachowicz saw victory at UFC 253, when he knocked out Dominick Reyes to claim the vacant UFC light heavyweight championship.
The Polish-born champion again finds himself on the same card as Adesanya…this time, he’ll be sharing the octagon with him.
Blachowicz is looking to stop Adesanya from becoming the fifth UFC fighter in the promotion’s history to simultaneously hold a title in two weight classes, alongside Conor McGregor, Daniel Cormier, Amanda Nunes (who also competes at UFC 259) and Henry Cejudo.
Ahead of the champion vs. champion clash, the UFC released a hype video, highlighting the “Polish-power” that Blachowicz possesses.

The UFC light heavyweight championship will top the bill at UFC 259 during the event’s title tripleheader. The bout will also see the promotion’s middleweight champion Israel Adesanya look to achieve what only four other fighters in UFC history have…become a simultaneous two-weight champion.
However, light heavyweight champion Jan Blachowicz plans to play spoiler and permanently send Adesanya back down to middleweight.

Conor McGregor Promises To Start Checking Leg Kicks
UFC 257 marked the first KO-loss in the illustrious career of former two-weight UFC champion Conor McGregor.
Part of the reasoning that Dustin Poirier was able to knockout McGregor was because of a bevy of leg kicks that rendered McGregor motionless.
However if the pair have a trilogy fight, the brash-Irishmen promises to check those Poirier leg kicks.
Guys I’m gonna cheque the leg kick
