Charlotte Flair Reveals Advice She Gave Rhea Ripley Before WrestleMania 36 Match

Rhea Ripley’s WrestleMania moment wasn’t what she thought it was going to be, but Charlotte Flair had some poignant advice for her.

As the 2020 Women’s Royal Rumble winner, Charlotte chose to challenge Ripley for the NXT Women’s Championship at WrestleMania 36. The match was supposed to take place at Raymond James Stadium in front of over 70,000 fans. Instead, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the match took place in an empty WWE Performance Center.

Speaking with Sam Roberts on the NotSam Wrestling podcast, Charlotte revealed her advice to Rhea ahead of the bout.

“I felt bad for her because I’m sure she didn’t picture her first WrestleMania in an empty arena. I said, ‘Listen, if you can really show people how talented you are, it’s right now. This could possibly be the most-watched WrestleMania of all-time. Just because they are not in the seats, doesn’t mean they aren’t watching at home. If you really want to show people how good you are, show them right now. Make people forget that there is no people here.’ That’s how I approached it and how I told her to approach it. To me, there is so much unfinished with Rhea. We had this fantastic match, people know what she’s capable of, she pushed me to the limit. Unfinished business. I feel that amount of pressure for WrestleMania this year because I don’t know what the future holds,” she said.

Charlotte is currently without an opponent for WrestleMania 37, which will take place at Raymond James Stadium in front of a limited capacity.

As for Ripley, she is “coming soon” to WWE Raw.

Elsewhere during the interview, Charlotte discussed her storyline with Ric Flair and Lacey Evans. You can find her full comments by clicking here.
