Tetsuya Naito Not Cleared To Compete At NJPW Road To Castle Attack On February 22

Tetsuya Naito’s knee injury will keep him out of action for one more week.

Just days ago, NJPW announced that Naito would miss the February 19 and 20 events. Now, the promotion has shared that the superstar has still not be cleared to compete, and thus will miss the February 22nd show as well. He initially suffered the injury on February 16 at NJPW Road to Castle Attack when he teamed with Shingo Takagi against Kota Ibushi & Yuji Nagata.

The previously scheduled Tetsuya Naito & SANADA vs Kota Ibushi & Tomoaki Honma match has been replaced with SANADA vs Tomoaki Honma.

Here is the official press release from NJPW:

As a result of a knee injury incurred on February 16, Tetsuya Naito has not been cleared to compete on February 22’s Road to Castle Attack card in Korakuen Hall.

We apologise to fans who were looking forward to seeing Naito wrestle, and appreciate your understanding.

The following change has been made to Monday’s card.

4th Match

Tetsuya Naito & SANADA vs Kota Ibushi & Tomoaki Honma

We join fans in continuing to wish naito the best in his recovery.

The February 21 NJPW Road to Castle Attack event was cancelled due to an earthquake.

Naito is still scheduled to challenge Kota Ibushi for the IWGP Intercontinental Championship at Castle Attack on February 28.
