Bobby Lashley Says He Didn’t Understand The Magnitude Of His Story With Lana, Admits To Feeling Awkward
Bobby Lashley recounts his on-screen romance with Lana.
Speaking with Sporting News, the United States Champion talked about his wrestling career and the different embarrassing things that have happened to him over the years. He claims that he has learned to laugh at himself and that he doesn’t care what the critics say because he is too high on the positives to think about the negatives. His late-2019 love-triangle with Lana and Rusev was then brought up, to which he had this to say:
“It happened so quick. When I was introduced to it, I was told what to do and … (groans). I didn’t understand the magnitude of it. But the one thing I did know was that I was doing something different. And you can say whatever you want about Lana but she was 100 percent committed and invested in that character. I felt awkward doing it. I’m always in fight mode but it was good to pull me out of that mode. But I needed to relax and just have fun with it. I loosened up because I knew we were trying to entertain people. I understood that, even though I didn’t originally like the idea and ended up being cool with it. It’s not comfortable for me but I understood the lesson I was being taught.”
In the time since, Lashley helped form The Hurt Business, who’ve been dominant on Raw, holding not only the US Title but the Tag Team belts as well. Lashley is scheduled to defend his WWE United States Championship against Riddle and Keith Lee at WWE Elimination Chamber.
Fightful will have live coverage of the event on Sunday, February 21 beginning at 6 PM EST.
