Kenny Omega Comments On A Possible Working Relationship Between AEW And WWE

Kenny Omega thinks a deal with WWE would be hard but not impossible.

In an interview with talkSPORT, the AEW Champion spoke about the newfound synergy between AEW, New Japan Pro Wrestling and IMPACT, and how it took a global pandemic to bring them all together. Although the wrestlers are excited by the possibility of working with new talent – many of whom are their friends – Omega understands that this is still a business, and everyone needs to operate with their own best interests in mind.

Kenny then shared his thoughts on Triple H, saying that he believes The Game when he says that WWE is open for business. He said the following:

“But from when I did speak at length with Triple H, it really felt like he understood a lot of my thought process and not only was I looking to unite and unify the world of professional wrestling and all of that, but he definitely got it.

The thing is, I also understand their side of things too. There’s no right or wrong way anymore in wrestling. To me, and it’s the outlook I take on everything, if we can make the fans enjoy what we do more, that’s the right way.

So when he does say things like he’s open for business, I do think if there is a situation which could maybe eliminate some of the worries and fears from the other people that have a say in making these things happen, I do see it being a reality.”

Omega doesn’t know what it would take for something like an AEW/WWE alliance to happen, but he wants them to know that the AEW EVP’s are committed to making the wrestling industry better for everyone. As for a partnership, Omega is willing to fight tooth and nail to make it happen. Furthermore, Omega believes that Triple H genuinely does do things for the sake of fans. At the end of the day, however, the AEW Champion realizes that it’s not the wrestlers who ultimately make these big decisions.

Triple H currently serves as the Executive Vice President of Global Talent Strategy and Development for WWE. He is also the executive producer of NXT.
