Tama Tonga Says AEW Is Being Petty With Trademarks, Okada Won’t Degrade Himself To Appearing In AEW

AEW continues to draw the ire of Tama Tonga.

In the past month, AEW has trademarked the terms “Too Sweet” and “Forbidden Door” as AEW’s relationship with NJPW has grown stronger. Though AEW and NJPW are working together, current Bullet Club members and former Bullet Club members continue to trade barbs in interviews.

On the latest episode of Tama’s Island, Tama Tonga once again took aim at Bullet Club OGs and AEW.

“I saw AEW trademarked [Forbidden Door]. Ya’ll getting real petty with that. Trademarking ‘too sweet’ and ‘forbidden door.’ Ya’ll playing a stupid game that WWE is playing. Come on man, I thought ya’ll were trying to be different. Come on AEW. Tony Khan, you mark, you been in business two years? Where were you four or five years ago? Shut up. You grab the losers to boost the ratings. That’s why you failed at business,” he said.

Tama was referencing David Finlay and Juice Robinson as the “losers” to boost the ratings. FinJuice appeared on Tuesday’s IMPACT Wrestling. Tama did praise KENTA, who appeared on recent episodes of AEW Dynamite, for helping boost the ratings of AEW.

“New Japan is responsible for all of this. If it wasn’t for New Japan, there would be no forbidden door, no KENTA, no FinJuice. Everyone is looking for help and looking towards New Japan. Then they take, take, take, and not a ‘thank you,'” said Tama.

Tama also addressed a statement made by Dave Meltzer that Kazuchika Okada would be headed to AEW or IMPACT at some point.

“Okada ain’t going nowhere. Why would he degrade himself to that standard?”

Thus far; KENTA, David Finlay, and Juice Robinson have been the three NJPW names to appear in AEW and IMPACT.

Elsewhere during the podcast, Tama continued his war of words with Don Callis, saying Kenny Omega is in a minor league company. You can find his full comments by clicking here.
