The Series Premiere Of ‘Young Rock’ On NBC Garners Over 5 Million Viewers

After all these years, The Rock is still a draw.

On Tuesday, February 16, Young Rock, the sitcom about the life of Dwayne Johnson, premiered and was successful out of the gate.

The series premiere, which set up the backdrop for the series as The Rock being interviewed in 2032 ahead of a hopeful presidential run, garnered over 5 million viewers on NBC. The final total viewership number was 5,034,000. In terms of viewership, the show was only bested by stalwart smashes, This Is Us and NCIS.

In demographic news, Young Rock scored a 0.9 in the 18 to 49 demographic and a 1.5 among adults aged 25 to 54.

The series will be based around The Rock’s life growing up around the world of professional wrestling and include actors playing Randy Savage, Andre the Giant, and even Vince McMahon. You can check out some of the casting information at this link.

The first episode of the series and all future episodes of the series will be available for next-day viewing on NBCUniversal’s streaming service Peacock. Starting on March 18, the entire WWE Network library will be shifted over to Peacock, the new home of the WWE Network in the United States of America.
