Britt Baker: My Biggest Fear Is I Am Going To Come Out Through The Tunnel And There Will Be Silence

Britt Baker loves her relationship with the audience.

Britt Baker was the very first woman signed to AEW. At the time, she was a smiling babyface and over the course of the last two years, she has become one of the main villains in the AEW women’s division.

For Baker, she loves being able to elicit any reaction from an audience and applies the approach that was commonly lighted during John Cena’s time atop WWE, any reaction is a good reaction.

“I like getting any reaction from the fans. Whether they boo me or cheer me, it’s such an adrenaline rush,” Baker said to Bleacher Report. “My biggest fear is I am going to come out through the tunnel and there will be silence. I love my relationship with the fans. So many people are jealous of me and my place in the women’s division. Jealousy is a disease. Get well soon.”

As one of the many women in the AEW Women’s World Championship Eliminator Tournament, Britt Baker looks to finally ascend to the championship picture, saying that she doesn’t fear anybody in the tournament.

“I’m not concerned about anybody,” Baker said. “I don’t even know who is in the tournament because I know that no matter what, I am going to come out on top. There is nobody in the world more focused than me.

“I have been here since Day 1. I was the very first female signed, and I have been nowhere near that title picture for I don’t even know how long. I have been carrying that division on my back, and now I am going to carry it on my back with a title around my waist.”

Baker also addressed the lack of time given to the women on AEW TV, saying that she wants to help lead the women’s division into bigger spots in the future.

“I just want to help lead the women’s division to more TV time and the main event eventually,” she said.  “We’re getting there, but this is a business, and we need to stay strong. For a long time, the women’s segments weren’t doing well, but now we are getting to a point where the fans want more women’s matches.”

The Women’s Eliminator Tournament begins tonight with first-round action that will see Thunder Rosa against Leyla Hirsch.

Fightful will have live coverage beginning tonight at 8 p.m. eastern time.
