Francis Ngannou Says UFC Needs A Better Heavyweight Champion
Francis Ngannou destroyed former UFC Heavyweight Champion Andrei Arlovski last Saturday at UFC on Fox, but Ngannou seems to have an issue with the heavyweight division as a whole.
“In the UFC, everyone is a good fighter,” he told MMA Junkie. “Everyone can be a champion. So he *UFC HEavyweight Champion Stipe Miocic) is a good champion. (But) I don’t think (he represents the belt well). Because someone can do better than that.”
Ngannou also doesn’t seem to impressed with the man he faced in Arlovski.
“Superstar? I don’t know,” Ngannou said. “But I know I will be the champ for this division.”
Ngannou has been undefeated thus far under the UFC banner, having earned victories over such fighters as Arlovski, Luis Henrique, Curtis Blaydes, Bojan Mihajlovic and Anthony Hamilton. Ngannou has yet to see any of his fights in the UFC go past the second round and he hasn’t suffered a defeat in well over three years time.
