Dax Harwood Discusses Working With American Alpha, Would Like To See Chad Gable In AEW
Dax Harwood would like to see Chad Gable in AEW.
Speaking with Arn Anderson as part of a special AdFreeShows watch-along for the ARN podcast, AEW Superstar Dax Harwood agreed with the assessment that you can tell when a wrestler belongs and if they believe they belong.
“That’s what separates the wrestlers from guys who are playing wrestler. There are guys who can go in there and do some athletic, crazy stuff, and I wish I could. But if you believe in your heart that you’re the best, if believe you’re the biggest badass in the world, nobody can beat you, you’re gonna look legit. I think we should get Gable into AEW, but that’s just my thought.”
The FTR member says that the reason he and Cash Wheeler are so successful is that they have no selfish ambition and put the team first.
Harwood had the following to say about Chad Gable and Jason Jordan:
“Those two guys are two of the hardest working guys I’ve ever been in the ring with. They are the two hardest working guys I have ever been in the ring with. We worked with those guys for I don’t know, four months straight, 5 months straight on these house shows. This is when NXT was picking up and we were going to these house shows every week. Every week, my goal was to change the match. I never wanted to do the same thing, ever. There’s some guys that want, and I can understand, there’s some guys that want to preserve their body and preserve their mind and just get through it, and I get that, but these guys weren’t like that.”
Before continuing on, the former AEW Tag Team Champion took a quick detour to put over the commentary duo of Tom Phillips and Corey Graves for being “incredible at what they did.” Dax knows that it will probably cause an uproar online, but he believes that they are up there with Jim Ross and Jerry Lawler as well as Gorilla Monsoon and Bobby “The Brain” Heenan as one of the best commentary teams ever.
As for what made their rivalry with Gable and Jordan great, Harwood chalks it up to work ethic.
“Every night I changed the matchup and they were okay with it. They brought it and they wanted to work harder than me and Cash. Me and Cash were not going to let them outwork us, and that’s what made this rivalry so great.”
Gable can currently be seen on WWE SmackDown every Friday night. He is running the “Alpha Academy,” training wrestlers like Daniel Bryan and Otis for their appearances in the Royal Rumble match. On January 22, he was involved in Bayley and Bianca Belair’s Obstacle Course Challenge.
Jason Jordan has been working as a producer in WWE since suffering a career-ending injury, but his former tag team partner recently revealed on the WWE’s The Bump that he is working on a potential comeback.
Harwood is scheduled to face Jungle Boy in singles competition on the January 27 edition of AEW Dynamite.
