Adam Cole Says NXT Is The Main Roster, Looks Forward To Continue Running Roughshod Over NXT In 2021
Adam Cole has been a member of the NXT roster for nearly four years now, and he has no plans to change that in 2021.
The NXT brand has evolved considerably from the days where it was only available on Hulu and featured WWE developmental talent only. Now, NXT has become WWE’s homemade alternative to Monday Night Raw and Friday Night SmackDown featuring some of the most notable talent to come from the independent wrestling scene.
There is perhaps a no better example of this evolution than Undisputed ERA. Adam Cole, Bobby Fish, Kyle O’Reilly, and Roderick Strong are four competitors who made their names on the independent scene and at one point were some of the biggest draws that independent promotions like PWG were able to offer.
Roderick was the first to come to NXT, joining Austin Aries in the second Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic. In the summer of 2017, Kyle O’Reilly, Bobby Fish, and Adam Cole would join forces creating the initial iteration of the faction that has run NXT for several years now. Later, they would add Roderick to their ranks and the rest is history.
Every year, when the discussion of “main roster” call-ups begins, there is always a wide range of the audience who questioned whether or not this will be the year that Adam Cole and company show up on Monday or Friday nights after having such a dominant run on NXT.
Dispelling any hopes that he may be moving to a different brand and also if I am only stating that NXT is the main roster, Adam Cole took to Twitter to state that 2021 will simply be another year that Undisputed ERA runs NXT.
#UndisputedERA has run @WWENXT since we’ve arrived…2021 will be no different. Enjoy the ride boys & girls. @KORcombat @roderickstrong @theBobbyFish

@WWENXT is main roster. No debate. End of story. https://t.co/HBiJCC6WXE

In the past, Triple H has called Adam Cole NXT’s “Iron Man” and has continued to sing his praises throughout the four years Adam Cole has been with NXT. However, if Cole and friends needed any more approval from legends, Les Thatcher praised the group’s run on Twitter, stating he wants to be a senior member of UE.
Adam, enjoy you guys so much, my best to Roddy, Bobby, & Kyle, I want to be a senior member! — Love & respect! —

Adam Cole has appeared on other WWE programming in the past. On the November 1, 2019, episode of Friday Night SmackDown, Adam Cole defended the NXT Championship against Daniel Bryan and would defend against Seth Rollins the following Monday on Raw. Adam Cole was also in the 2018 WWE Royal Rumble match.
Currently, Cole is paired with Roderick in this year’s Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic Tournament. Fightful will have live coverage of NXT every Wednesday.
