Injury Forces Change To UFC 208

Gilbert Burns has suffered an arm injury and he has been pulled from next month’s UFC 208 card, he was set to fight fellow lightweight Paul Felder.

Felder is expected to remain on the card at this point in time, although UFC officials have yet to announce a replacement opponent for the Boston native. Neither Burns, Felder or the UFC have commented on the situation, UFC 208 will be the first pay-per-view for the promotion this year.

Felder (12-3-0) has won four of seven fights under the UFC banner, with some notable wins coming over the likes of Danny Castillo, Josh Burkman and Daron Cruickshank. Felder is also a former Cage Fury Fighting Championships Lightweight Champion, he relinquished the title upon signing with the UFC in 2014. Felder also held a championship as an amateur fighter, as he held the New Breed Fighters Lightweight Title in 2009, but he lost it before turning pro.

It is also unknown at this time where the potential Felder/Burns fight would’ve landed on the card, as the official fight order hasn’t been announced yet.

UFC 208 takes place on Saturday, February 11 from the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York with no headliners announced as of yet.
