Card Change To UFC Fight Night 106

Alex Nicholson has been pulled from the upcoming UFC Fight Night 106 for undisclosed reasons, Garreth McClellan will be replacing him against Paulo Henrique Costa at the event.

McClellan (13-5-0) has won just one of four fights under the UFC banner, defeating Bubba Bush, while suffering defeats to Bartosz Fabinski, Magnus Cedenblad and Alessio Di Chirico. McClellan is a longtime veteran of the Extreme Fighting Championships promotion, winning eleven of twelve fights in the promotion. McClellan is a former EFC Middleweight Champion, he defeated Jacques Joubert to win the championship in 2011, he would lose the belt in his first defense.

Costa (8-0-0) will be making his UFC debut in this fight and all eight of his professional MMA fights ended in the opening round. Costa spent his last three fights competing in the Jungle Fight promotion, where he defeated Bruno Assis, Eduardo Ramon and Adriano Silverio Balby De Araujo. Costa has been a professional MMA fighter since 2012, but he has never competed more than twice a year in any given year.

UFC Fight Night 106 takes place on Saturday, March 11 from the Centro de Formacao Olimpica do Nordeste in Fortaleza, Brazil with Kelvin Gastelum and Vitor Belfort headlining.
