WWE Settles Lawsuit Over WWE Shop Website Accessibility

WWE has settled its lawsuit over WWE Shop accessibility.

On October 6, Josue Romero filed a lawsuit in the Southern District of New York claiming WWE has violated the Americans with Disabilities Act with its WWE Shop website. The filing notes “Romero is a visually-impaired and legally blind person who requires screen-reading software to read website content using his computer.”

The lawsuit alleged the shop.wwe.com website “is not equally accessible to blind and visually-impaired consumers,” and is in violation of the ADA. Romero asked WWE to change its corporate policies and procedures to ensure the website will become available to blind and visually-impaired consumers. Romero was seeking a jury trial and asked for his legal costs to be covered.

On December 7, Romero’s counsel (via HeelByNature) issued a settlement notice, advising the court to dismiss the case.

The lawsuit was settled out of court for an undisclosed amount of money.
