Rhea Ripley: I Was Waiting To Be Drafted And It Didn’t Happen
Rhea Ripley thought she was heading up to Raw or SmackDown at the recent WWE Draft, but the call never came.
Though NXT superstars were not eligible during the 2020 WWE Draft, call-ups can seemingly happen at any time in WWE. Ripley, who has seen her role fluctuate this year on the black and gold brand, was certain her time in NXT was coming to an end.
“I was waiting for it and then it didn’t happen,” she told Lilian Garcia on Chasing Glory when asked about being moved to Raw or SmackDown at the draft.
“I would like to go to Raw or SmackDown, but at the same time, there are so many people in NXT that I haven’t faced yet and I feel like there is so much more that I can still do. I would love to wrestle Candice [LeRae], especially now that her whole persona has changed. I would love to wrestle Indi Hartwell, Shotzi [Blackheart], I want to wrestle Raquel [Gonzalez] again. I would love to do a stipulation match with her,” she said.
Ripley also mentioned that she wanted to be part of another WarGames match. WWE seemingly heard her request as she was added to Team Shotzi for this Sunday’s WarGames bout.
Elsewhere during the podcast, Ripley discussed losing her confidence following WrestleMania 36. You can find her full comments by clicking here.
