Injury Updates On Otis And Jey Uso Following 11/27 WWE SmackDown
Steel chairs did a lot of damage on the Black Friday edition of SmackDown and two SmackDown Superstars had to be evaluated by medical professionals according to WWE.
Roman Reigns opened last night’s episode of SmackDown by berating his cousin, Jey Uso and his words sent Jey Uso into a rage and when Otis, a member of the SmackDown Survivor Series team which had lost in a clean sweep to Monday Night Raw, came out for his match with King Corbin, Jey Uso would assault and brutalize him with a steel chair, effectively canceling the impending matchup.
Later in the evening, Uso would face another member of the Survivor Series team, Kevin Owens and wind up on the receiving end of a brutal assault with a steel chair courtesy of KO.
Now, WWE has provided a medical update on both Uso and Otis.
Injury updates on Otis and Jey Uso following SmackDown
Following Friday Night SmackDown, WWE Digital has learned the status of two blue brand Superstars.
Otis was evaluated by WWE Medical following Jey Uso’s attack. The evaluation revealed multiple areas of contusions and tenderness of the muscles throughout the thoracic spine region. Examination of the bony regions of the thoracic spine and ribs did not reveal any abnormalities.
Jey Uso was sent to the trainer’s room following his match with Kevin Owens and the ringside physician’s evaluation revealed bilateral upper extremity weakness as a result of stretching of the lower cervical nerve roots from the chair strikes. The belief is that this weakness is temporary and should resolve over the next few days.
