Sami Zayn Says Donald Trump’s Presidency Tarnished The Characteristics Of The Heel Wrestler
Following the 2020 election, Sami Zayn reflects on one (self-admittedly petty) reason he is not fond of Donald Trump.
On Saturday, November 7, 2020, Joe Biden was officially projected to be elected the 46th president of the United States, making WWE Hall of Famer Donald Trump the 13th president to serve only a single term.
Sami Zayn, who is always outspoken on social media about issues he’s passionate about, took to Twitter to express that he feels Donald Trump has infringed on his gimmick of being a delusional and cowardly villain.
One petty reason I dislike Trump is that he has infringed on my gimmick of being a delusional, cowardly heel.
Not even joking. So much of the arrogance, paranoia, victimhood & denial that has long been the language of the heel wrestler is now attributed to him & it pisses me off.— Sami Zayn (@SamiZayn) November 7, 2020
Many other wrestlers including CM Punk and Batista have reacted to Donald Trump’s election loss on social media with CM Punk even directing his tweet at Linda McMahon, a former Trump cabinet member.

Thank you to all my brothers and sisters who stood up and spoke out against lies, hate and division for 4 exhausting years to fight for decency. I’ll see you in Georgia. ———- pic.twitter.com/soonQpP9FE
