Report: Santiago Ponzinibbio vs. Muslim Salikhov On January 16 UFC Card

A welterweight division attraction has been added to a UFC card on January 16 as Santiago Ponzinibbio faces Muslim Salikhov.

C. Contreras Legaspi first reported the bout.

Ponzinibbio (27-3-0) enters the contest riding a seven-fight winning streak and he hasn’t been defeated in over five years. Ponzinibbio is competing for the first time in over two years with his last bout taking place on November of 2018. Ponzinibbio has suffered three losses as a professional MMA fighter, with all of them coming to past and/or current UFC fighters.

Salikhov (17-2-0) has won four of five under the UFC banner, with those wins coming over Ricky Rainey, Nordine Taleb, Laureano Staropoli and Elizeu Zaleski Dos Santos. Salikhov hasn’t been defeated in almost three years with that last loss coming to Alex Garcia at UFC Fight Night Shanghai. Ponzinibbio has competed 19 times as a professional MMA fighter and just three of those encounters went the distance.

The yet to be announced UFC card is set for Saturday, January 16 from a location to be announced and with a main event to be announced. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, while broadcast plans have yet to be revealed.
