Backstage Reaction To The AEW Parking Lot Fight Between Best Friends And Proud N’ Powerful
How was the wild Parking Lot Brawl from the 9/16 AEW Dynamite perceived by performers inside the AEW locker room?
The Parking Lot Brawl between Best Friends and Santana and Ortiz was one of the most critically-acclaimed bouts in the year-long history of AEW Dynamite.
The match, which headlined the September 16, 2020 episode of AEW Dynamite, was an immediate smash hit on social media but it was also praised widely inside the AEW locker room as well.
Multiple names in AEW referred to the match as one that performers went out of their way to watch the bout whether they were asked to be there or not, as originally reported by Fightful Select:
The Best Friends vs. Santana & Ortiz Parking Lot Brawl gained positive reactions among fans and critics, but also among wrestlers backstage in All Elite Wrestling. We’ve heard that several wrestlers went out of their way to watch the match in person, even off-camera. There were certain talent and personalities who were set to appear in the “audience” for the fight, but several others made sure to watch from a distance, even if they weren’t asked to be there.
The major star coming out of the bloody brawl was undoubtedly Trent’s mom, Sue. Sue’s show-closing middle finger was the talk of the wrestling world that week. Fightful’s Sean Ross Sapp recently had the pleasure of speaking to Sue. Check out the full interview here.
