Exclusive Details: Latest On TNA Situation
Today's TNA changes caught the locker room off guard.
When this evening's news that Dixie Carter was resigning as chairman in the wake of a new parent company for TNA being created, Fightful.com spoke to several employees and talents in TNA Wrestling. In one case, a talent reached out to us and said "glad you know things before me."
The general reaction to the news has been one of optimism sprinkled with some positivity. Multiple sources speculated that Jeff Jarrett and Dutch Mantell could be introduced in a role of power within the company. Jarrett has been in talks with Anthem for over a month. In regards to Jeff Jarrett possibly returning, an employee told Fightful that as long as Jarrett isn't in the business of getting himself over on TV, the move will at the very least be a lateral one.
Talents said that while the news was a surprise, they almost expect something drastic to go down before every taping.
Another wrestler said that there was a feeling of disappointment among several backstage when Billy Corgan looked poised to take over, but it didn't happen. "I'll believe Dixie doesn't have an influence when she's not associated at all," another said.
Carter is still a minority owner in TNA, and will serve on an advisory board for Anthem.
