Mike Dolce Says A Rousey Return Is 50/50
Former UFC Women’s Bantamweight Champion Ronda Rousey was badly defeated by current champion Amanda Nunes at UFC 207, the fight lasted all of 48 seconds. Mike Dolce, the longtime nutritionist for Rousey, believes that there is a 50/50 shot that Rousey ever returns to the octagon.
“I wouldn’t be surprised either way,” Dolce said on The MMA Hour. “I want to make sure that’s contextual. If she says, ‘I want to be back for Super Bowl weekend or the July 4th card,’ I would not be surprised in the slightest. If she says, ‘I’ve done my thing in MMA, I’m gonna retire as a legend in the sport, specifically for WMMA,’ I wouldn’t be surprised, either. I truly think it’s 50-50 right now.”
While Dolce doesn’t have a clue on when Rousey may make her decision about her future, he does believe that its going to take her some time to do so.
“I think it’s gonna take some time,” Dolce said. “I don’t think she truly knows right now. As any good athlete, she should take her time to really think about it.”
Rousey is currently riding a two fight losing streak and she hasn’t earned a victory since defeating Bethe Correia at UFC 190 in 2015. Her mother mentioned recently that she hopes her daughter retires.
