Dana White Predicts UFC 252 “Will Not Be” Daniel Cormier’s Last Fight

Daniel Cormier has stated multiple times that UFC 252 will be his swan song but UFC president Dana White is not convinced.

When asked what White thinks of UFC 252 playing host to Cormier’s retirement, White told ESPN he was doubtful.

“No, it’s not,” White said on Thursday. Adding, “I don’t think either one [Cormier or Stipe Miocic] should retire. They are two of the best in the world and have a lot of left in them.”

“It’s obviously going to depend on how the fight plays out Saturday night,” White said. “If Cormier wins in spectacular fashion, this will not be his last fight. And knowing him the way I do, if he loses, then it will be, ‘I can’t go out like this.’ You know me. When people start talking about retiring, I think they should.”

Cormier’s coach, Javier Mendez, previously stated his belief that Cormier will delay retirement for a trilogy fight with UFC light-heavyweight champion Jon Jones.

UFC 252 takes place from the UFC Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada. Miocic vs. Cormier 3 will top-bill a card boasting Sean O’Malley, Junior dos Santos and Jim Miller. Keep up with Fightful for all your fight night coverage.
