Mick Foley Asks Fans Not To Donate To Crowd-Funding Campaigns For His Hip Operation

Mick Foley took to Facebook yesterday and to address the rumors that he was taking time off for an operation. He revealed that he needs a $60,000 hip replacement operation but doesn't have health insurance to cover it. We covered it here.

A few hours later, Foley took to Twitter to ask fans not to start any fundraising campaigns for his operation:

One fan did set up a GoFundMe page, which has now been deleted. The campaign had raised around $600 up until last night, but it seems that all contributions have been refunded to their donors. The link to the page is no longer active.

Foley Tweeted that he knows the person who started the Go-Fund-Me campaign:

The campaign description says that Abby raised money for lymphoma and leukemia research through a campaign a few years ago, called "Abby's Million Dollar Dream" and Foley assisted her fundraising efforts. This was presumably a way for Abby to repay the favor.
