Report: Bryan Barberena Faces Anthony Ivy At UFC Fight Night: Santos vs. Teixeira
A welterweight division attraction has been added to UFC Fight Night: Santos vs. Teixeira as Bryan Barberena faces Anthony Ivy.
MMA DNA first reported the bout, whose spot on the card isn’t known at this time.
Barberena (14-7-0) is competing for the first time in over a year, as the fighter got back surgery in September of 2019. Barbera will enter the contest riding a two fight losing streak, dropping bouts to Vicente Luque and Randy Brown. Barberena hasn’t won a bout in over two years, with that last win coming over Jake Ellenberger at UFC Fight Night Lincoln.
Ivy (8-3-0) is currently winless under the UFC banner, having dropped a bout to Christian Aguilera at UFC Fight Night: Eye vs. Calvillo. Ivy is a former WXC Welterweight Champion, defeating Willis Black by fourth round knockout to win the gold at WXC 82. Ivy has competed a total of 11 times as a professional MMA fighter and none of those bouts went to the judges scorecards.
UFC Fight Night: Santos vs. Teixeira takes place on Saturday, September 12 from the UFC Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada with Thiago Santos and Glover Teixeira headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, as broadcast plans have yet to be revealed.
