Ariane Andrew Confirms She Isn’t Signed With AEW, Would Love A Funkadactyls Reunion
Ariane Andrew returned to the ring on Tuesday, competing in the AEW Women’s Tag Team Tournament: Deadly Draw.
Ariane (Cameron in WWE), made a surprise appearance on last Wednesday’s Dynamite where she was officially announced as one of the competitors in the tournament and revealed as Nyla Rose’s partner. Prior to Tuesday, Ariane hadn’t wrestled since 2016.
On her Sippin’ The Tea podcast, Ariane confirmed she has not signed with AEW following her appearance.
“I am not with AEW,” she stated. “That was just a ‘little somethin’ somethin” I’m a free agent. As excited as people were, they were like, ‘does this mean no Funkadactyl reunion?’ It’s not official. There’s still a door, hello Vince [McMahon], are you listening?”
After there was some misinformation floating around regarding her quote, Ariane took to social media to clarify things.
Why do you guys like to bend the truth? All a bish said was I wasn’t signed and who knows what the future holds. Would I love a funks reunion? Yes… but Never did I say I had no plans signing with aew!? My home w/ wrestling will be where I am ultimately meant to be. Periodt!—— https://t.co/Lvc1wQhgnl

Ariane was scheduled to compete at EFFY’s Big Gay Brunch during WrestleMania week, but COVID-19 canceled those plans. She was reportedly booked by WWE for WrestleMania week as well, though it was unclear as to what her role would have been.
