Report: Mike Hamel Replaces Derek Campos At Bellator 243
Derek Campos has been pulled from Bellator 243, replacing him against Adam Borics is Mike Hamel.
MMA Fighting first reported the news, although a reason for Campos being removed from the card hasn’t been given at this time.
Borics (14-1-0) has won five of six in Bellator MMA competition, with notable wins coming over Aaron Pico and Pat Curran. Borics also made it to the quarterfinals of the Bellator Featherweight World Grand Prix before losing to Darrion Caldwell. Borics has competed fifteen times as a professional MMA fighter and just three of those bouts went the distance.
Hamel (7-3-0) is going to be making his Bellator MMA debut in this bout and does so having won two of his last five fights. Hamel has picked up a total of seven wins as a professional MMA fighter and four of them came by way of decision. Hamel also picked up two wins as an amateur MMA fighter and both of them came by way of KO/TKO.
Bellator 243 takes place on Friday, August 7 from the Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Connecticut with Michael Chandler and Ben Henderson headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, which airs live on the Paramount Network.
