Report: Santiago Ponzinibbio Tests Positive For The Coronavirus
It has been nearly two years since the last time that Santiago Ponzinibbio competed in the UFC, which was a fourth round knockout victory over Neil Magny in the main event of UFC Fight Night Buenos Aires.
One reason that Ponzinibbio has been out of action for such a long time was due to a staph infection, which caused a bout against former UFC Welterweight Champion Robbie Lawler to fall through.
Now Ponzinibbio has another reason to miss Octagon time and that is because a report from AG Fight is stating that the fighter has tested positive for the coronavirus. Ponzinibbio tested positive earlier this week, but not much else is known about the fighter’s status at this time.
Ponzinibbio will most likely have to self-quarantine for the next two weeks, which is the norm for the majority of people who contract the virus. There has been no statement yet from Ponzinibbio or the UFC as to the fighter testing positive for the coronavirus.
The fighter, despite being on an impressive winning streak, isn’t even ranked in the welterweight division right now due to a lack of Octagon activity.
