AJ Styles Says He Didn’t Leave Raw For SmackDown For Bullying Rumors, Calls Paul Heyman A Liar
AJ Styles has come out and denied a potential rumor about why he left Raw to go to SmackDown.
Weeks ago, Styles moved from WWE’s red brand to the blue brand, entering a tournament to become the new Intercontinental Championship. But Styles’ sudden change in shows right after his feud with The Undertaker, rumors circulated on why it happened in the first place. Speaking on a recent stream on Mixer, Styles not only shot down rumors of him being bullied, but also shot down rumors of it being related to Paul Heyman and the recent release of Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows. Speaking on Heyman, Styles didn’t go into too much detail, but he did call Heyman a liar.
“There were some rumors that AJ Styles left Raw to go to SmackDown because he was being bullied. That may be the dumbest thing I ever heard. I’m a grown man. If there was some bullying going on that upset me enough to leave Raw and go to SmackDown, I would handle it. Whether or not I still got my tail beat, I’d still handle it because I’m a grown man. I’ll just throw that out there. When it comes to the rumor of Paul Heyman and me being upset with him because he didn’t take out for Gallows and Anderson, that’s not what it was at all, not even close. I’ll give you a snippet of what me, Gallows and Anderson already know. [Heyman’s] a liar. Now you know and I’m sure you know going back to his ECW days. He’s a bold-faced lair. That’s my take on it,” Heyman said.
Styles won the Intercontinental Championship on SmackDown in June when he defeated Daniel Bryan. In recent weeks, Styles faced off against Matt Riddle and Drew Gulak.
