WWE Smackdown on FOX Results for 6/26/20 The Undertaker Tribute Extravaganza
Witness a tribute to The Deadman Tonight at 8pm EST on FOX!
Good evening Fight Fans and welcome to our coverage for tonight’s edition of WWE Smackdown on FOX with a special edition of Smackdown dedicated to WWE Hall of Famer The Undertaker!
– We open the show with a video package recapping the legendary career of The Undertaker before we open in the arena with the roster clapping and saying “Thank You Taker” and we get a graphic for a video package titled The Undertaker’s Legacy later tonight.
– We get a video package for The Undertaker’s debut at Survivor Series in 1990 before we get a graphic for his and AJ Styles’ Bone Yard Match from Wrestlemania up next as we go to commercial.
– We come back to the Bone Yard match from this year’s Wrestlemania in which The Undertaker overcame the odds and took out the OC on the way to his victory over AJ Styles in which he buried AJ in a grave.
– We go back to the ring where Baron Corbin cuts a promo on The Undertaker, calling him a selfish ass kisser and that he doesn’t deserve thanks. Corbin then says that Taker sucks before he’s attacked by Jeff Hardy who sends him out of the ring as we go to commercial.
– We come back to another video of legends talking about the career of Taker.
– We go backstage to Jeff being abruptly interviewed about his attack on Corbin before he walks off.
Smackdown Women’s Championship Number One Contender Fatal Four Way Match
Alexa and Nikki pair off and team up against Lacey and Dana before clearing the ring and Nikki rolls Alexa up before motioning that there’s no hard feelings and she just wants a title shot. Lacey and Dana sends Alexa out of the ring and Dana hits a standing moonsault for a two count that Lacey breaks up before she and Dana stomp Nikki in the corner. Lacey drops Dana before Dana comes back and slams Lacey before climbing to the top and hitting a swanton bomb for a two count that Nikki breaks up. Dana slams Nikki before Alexa hits her with right hands and slams Dana to the mat before she goes for Twisted Bliss, but Dana gets her knees up. Lacey then sends Alexa out of the ring and hits Nikki with a slingshot elbow drop before knocking Dana out with The Woman’s Right and Nikki rolls Lacey up out of nowhere for the pin and the win.
Winner: Nikki Cross defeats Lacey Evans, Dana Brooke and Alexa Bliss via pinfall to gain a shot at Bayley’s title.
– After the match we get a graphic for Jeff Hardy and Baron Corbin later tonight as we go to commercial.
– We come back to Triple H talking about his and Shawn Michaels’ matches against The Undertaker before we go back to the ring for our next match.
New Day & Lucha House Party vs Shinsuke Nakamura, Cesaro The Miz & John Morrison
E and Miz start things off, Miz trying to attack E from behind, but he’s ready, E dropping Miz with a back elbow before hitting a running splash on the apron. E gets two when Miz rolls back in the ring and tags in Lince who hits an assisted diving splash for two before Cesaro gets the tag and gets overwhelmed by the speed of Lince who hits a head scissors for two. Metalik comes in and hits a splash off of Lince’s shoulders for two before Cesaro drives Metalik into the corner and Shin comes in and stomps him before Metalik comes back with a bull dog. Shin ducks a kick by Kofi and tags in John who gets hit with a missile dropkick for two before John counters a monkey flip and sets Kofi on the top turnbuckle before kicking him off and down onto the floor where Shin attacks him and sends him into the plexiglass and back into the ring. Cesaro and Shinsuke then double up on Kofi and mock the other teams before the referee holds them back as we go to commercial.
We come back to Miz in control before Kofi hits a tornado DDT and nearly gets the tag to E, but Shin comes in and stops him before fighting with E who gets sent into the steps by Cesaro. Kofi counters a Kinshasa into a jumping stomp and tags in Metalik as John gets the tag on the opposite side and Metalik hits a springboard cross body into a springboard hurricanrana. Metalik gets two off of a sunset flip before Lince comes off of the top onto John for a near fall that Shin and Cesaro break up before they brawl with New Day to the back and it’s just Miz and Morrison left in the match with LHP. Lince then hits Miz with The Golden Rewind before hitting a hurricanrana off of the top and onto John at ringside before Lince hits a rope walk diving elbow for the pin and the win.
Winner: Lucha House Party and New Day defeat The Miz, John Morrison, Cesaro and Shinsuke Nakamura.
– After the match we go backstage to an interview with Baron Corbin ahead of his match against Jeff Hardy later tonight where he talks about Jeff’s past mistakes and that he should retire like The Undertaker before we see Universal Champion Braun Strowman making his way out to the arena as we go to commercial.
– We come back to this week’s Progressive Match Flo recapping the end of last week’s show in which Bray Wyatt told Braun Strowman that their feud isn’t over before he brought back his older persona. We then cut back to the arena where Braun comes out to the ring and addresses what Bray said last week, Braun saying that Bray was the first person he ever feared in life and how evil he was. Braun then says that he’s either going to become an embodiment of evil or he’s going to drag Bray back to the swamp when their match is over at Extreme Rules.
Jeff Hardy vs Baron Corbin
Corbin drops Jeff with a clubbing blow before knocking him over with a shoulder block and dropping him again with a back elbow for two before stomping Jeff down and mocking him. Jeff sends Corbin over the top rope before Corbin tries to send Jeff into the steps and Jeff whips Corbin over the announce table before hitting a ax handle off of the apron. Jeff then rolls Corbin back into the ring and beats him down before Corbin sends Jeff into the post and out of the ring before mocking The Undertaker and doing his pose as we go to commercial.
We come back to Corbin in control as Superstars now surround the ring in a pseudo-lumberjack match, Corbin dropping Jeff and covering him for two before clotheslining him when Jeff tries to come back. Corbin puts Jeff in a shoulder lock before he gets back to his feet and hits a pair of jawbreakers into an inverted atomic drop and a leg drop into a basement dropkick for two. Corbin counters the Twist of Fate before Jeff counters a back suplex and Corbin hits Deep Six for a near fall, Jeff rolling out of the ring to catch his breath. Jeff dodges Corbin who goes shoulder first into the post and hits a Swanton Bomb once they’re back in the ring for the pin and the win.
Winner: Jeff Hardy defeats Baron Corbin via pinfall.
– After the match everyone at ringside celebrates before Corbin attacks Jeff and Corbin takes out Kofi before E hits Corbin with The Big Ending before Braun comes into the ring and hits Corbin with a powerslam before Matt Riddle hits Corbin with a corkscrew senton. Jeff then does Undertaker’s signature pose in the center of the ring as we go off the air.
