Report: Kamaru Usman Changes Camps Ahead Of UFC 251

UFC Welterweight Champion Kamaru Usman defends the gold against Gilbert Burns next month in the main event of UFC 251.

A huge issue for the fighters was based around the fact that they are teammates at Sanford MMA, but that problem has been resolved as Usman has changed camps according to MMA Junkie.

Usman has moved his camp to Denver, where the welterweight champion will train with coach Trevor Wittman. Wittman, along with former UFC fighter Jorge Santiago and brother Mohammed Usman, are expected to corner Usman at UFC 251.

Burns has stayed at Sanford MMA in Florida, with fellow UFC fighter Vicente Luque acting as his lead corner for the title encounter.

Henri Hooft, who has been the longtime coach for both Burns and Usman, will not work with either fighter in the lead up to UFC 251.

UFC 251 takes place on Saturday, July 11 from Fight Island in Yas Island, Abu Dhabi with Kamaru Usman and Gilbert Burns headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, with a post-show podcast to follow.
