Report: Jordan Griffin Faces Youssef Zalal At UFC Fight Night: Poirier vs. Hooker
A featherweight division attraction has been added to UFC Fight Night: Poirier vs. Hooker as Jordan Griffin faces Youssef Zalal.
MMA Fighting reported the bout, which is expected to be a part of the preliminary card.
Griffin (18-7-0) has won just one of three in UFC competition, with that lone win coming over TJ Brown at UFC Fight Night Norfolk. Griffin also competed on Dana White’s Tuesday Night Contender Series Episode 15, defeating Maurice Mitchell by first round submission. Griffin has picked up eighteen wins as a professional MMA fighter and nine of them came by way of submission.
Zalal (8-2-0) is undefeated thus far under the UFC banner, having defeated Austin Lingo by unanimous decision at UFC 247. Zalal hasn’t suffered a defeat in over a year, with that last loss coming to Matt Jones at LFA 65 in May of last year. Zalal has picked up eight wins as a professional MMA fighter and five of them came by way of submission.
UFC Fight Night: Poirier vs. Hooker takes place on Saturday, June 27 from the UFC Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada with Dustin Poirier and Dan Hooker headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, which airs live on ESPN.
