Dwayne Johnson’s ‘Young Rock’ Sitcom Slated For 2021 Debut On NBC
Are you ready to smell what ‘Young Rock’ is cooking?
Back in January, it was announced that NBC ordered 11 episodes of a sitcom that will chronicle the life of a young Dwayne Johnson.
Titled “Young Rock,” the series is written by Nahnatchka Khan, creator of the ABC sitcom, “Fresh Off The Boat,” and Jeff Chiang.
NBC announced their fall season lineup today and the sitcom is slated for a midseason debut.
Executive producers on the upcoming comedy series include Khan, Chiang, Johnson’s business partner, and ex-wife Dany Garcia, Hiram Garcia, former lead writer of WWE Monday Night Raw, Brian Gewirtz, and Jennifer Carreras, in addition to The Rock himself. The show will be produced by Universal Television, Seven Bucks Productions, and Khan’s Fierce Baby Productions.
The Rock is currently featured on NBC on Titan Games, an American Ninja Warrior-style show produced by Seven Bucks Productions.
Dwayne Johnson and Dany Garcia’s daughter, Simone Johnson is currently signed to WWE under a developmental deal. The Rock recently stated on Jimmy Fallon that she is the youngest person ever signed by WWE.
