A middleweight division attraction has been added to UFC Fight Night: Lewis vs. Oleinik as #11 Omari Akhmedov faces Chris Weidman.

Marcel Dorff of MMA DNA reported the bout, who’s spot on the card isn’t known at this time.

Akhmedov (20-4-1) enters the contest riding a three fight winning streak, picking up wins over Tim Boetsch, Zak Cummings and Ian Heinisch. Akhmedov has seen his last seven fights go the distance and it has been over five years since the fighter got a finish. Akhmedov hasn’t suffered a defeat in four years, with his last loss coming to Elizeu Zaleski Dos Santos at UFC On Fox 19.

Weidman (14-5-0) has won just one of his last six under the UFC banner, with that lone win coming over Kelvin Gastelum at UFC On Fox 25. Weidman is a former UFC Middleweight Champion, defeating Anderson Silva to win the gold at UFC 162 to claim the gold. Weidman moved up to middleweight for one bout, which was a loss to Dominick Reyes at UFC Fight Night Boston.

UFC Fight Night: Lewis vs. Oleinik takes place on Saturday, August 8 from the UFC Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada with Derrick Lewis and Aleksei Oleinik headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, while broadcast plans have yet to be announced.
