Christian Leaves WWE Raw On A Stretcher Following Punt Kick From The Cold Randy Orton

Randy Orton opened WWE Raw, gloating about his victory over Edge in the Greatest Match Ever at Backlash. Orton was interrupted by Christian, who was there to defend his best friend.

As first reported by Fightful and later confirmed by WWE, Edge suffered a torn triceps at WWE Backlash. He underwent successful surgery and it is unknown how long he will be out of action.

Orton believed Christian wanted one more match and challenged him to an unsanctioned bout for later in the show. After some thought, Christian would accept the challenge.

In the main event, Christian had his first official match since 2014, taking on Randy Orton. The match didn’t last long as Ric Flair, who tried to talk Christian out of the match, low blowed Christian, leading to Orton hitting the punt kick for the victory.

Christian retired in 2014 due to concussion issues. Following Edge’s return at WWE Royal Rumble 2020, many wondered if Christian would ever be cleared to return. Christian has been adamant in interviews that he is content in retirement and couldn’t see himself getting cleared, noting that his concussion issues are different than Edge’s neck issues.

It has not been confirmed if Christian has been cleared by WWE doctors to make a full return.
